What a difference a year makes...

Writing my first post for Small and Mighty has been quite a daunting thought.

Now, not being a person who struggles for something to say I am, however, not a writer. My English teacher would have me in detention for my spelling and punctuation (I blame predictive text!) but then I realised, this isn't about being a good writer, its about doing some good, something for George to be proud of and something for anyone out there who needs Small and Mighty.

I have already written about why I have started Small and Mighty but as George's 1st Birthday approaches it feels apt to launch this website in tandem with his birthday celebrations. We have come such a long way since the 9th May and for all you people who find yourself in NICU today I hope and pray for the mighty strong steps your baby is taking to come home. Know and trust the people around you and please remember that there is a group of loving people here in Dubai who can be there for you.

I am so proud to share this picture of George with you. This first photo taken was not the usual "new baby" cradled in mum's arms but this. And though I am crying remembering that day I cannot tell you how happy it has also made me. Without this, Small and Mighty would never have been my calling and I would not have this chance to give back the support that I had to anyone in need in the UAE.  JPH-H
