Bringing together our Stars at Al Barari...

For World Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day we held an event amongst the private gardens at Al Barari. With the love and support from Alexandra from Little Angels and Fazila from Lighthouse Arabia we were able to make it a day to remember for each and every one of our Little Stars.

Everyone was welcome no matter whether their loss was through miscarriage, still birth, neonatal or Infant Loss. Our families brought siblings, family members and friends for support. The gardens were beautiful to walk around and allowed our families to take some time to commemorate their little one in the way that is right for them

Upon A Star...help us make our stars shine brighter

Celebrating those milestones....I got no tubes to help me breathe

I am utterly delighted to have teamed up with www.puddingsandchops.com to offer these incredible NICU milestone cards to families across the UAE.

Josie and Laura who own this business have nothing but supportive in helping me get these across the world to the desert dunes of Dubai. I am thrilled to have them here and please email me if you are interested to see them.

Small and Mighty is one Sassy Mama

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of meeting Kaya Scott from Sassy Mama and was thrilled when she asked me to feature on the website as a "that mama". I was quite nervous about having my photograph taken for the website but was put at ease by their lovely photographer Claire Barlow and am so pleased with the finished result. The Sassy Mama team have been so supportive of Small and Mighty Babies and I can't wait to get back to Dubai in September to get working on great things to come. JPH-H

City Tots meeting at Mediclinic City Hospital

The second City Tots Preemie Support Group meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday 15th July and will be joined by Minettte Prinslloo, City Hospital dietician, who will be available to answer all your infant feeding questions.

City Tots is a support group based at City Hospital for parents of premature babies who have been admitted to City Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The morning meeting is 11:30 – 13:00 and evening 18:00 – 20:00.

Sadly I cannot be there tomorrow as I am travelling but for all those who attend I hope you have a great session.  JPH-H

Sassy Mama comes to Dubai...

Sassy Mama has recently launched in Dubai and I totally agree that it is the "go-to guide for modern mothers". Already in Hong Kong and Singapore, this new guide for Dubai based families is packed with useful tips, ideas, events, advice, contacts...you name it, these Mamas have it covered.

I was thrilled when Sassy Mama asked me to write a few words and introduce Small and Mighty Babies to them. It is through media like Sassy Mama that Small and Mighty Babies can reach a larger audience and I feel very honoured to have them as our supporters. JPH-H

Mediclinic City Hospital announce the start of City Tots

I am thrilled to be able to share the great news that City Hospital shall begin their City Tots sessions on Tuesday 17th June.

City Tots is a support group based at City Hospital for parents of premature babies who have been admitted to City Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The group aims to support and educate parents during and after their NICU experience. They provide parents with the coping skills, a place to find unconditional help and voice their individual concerns. City Tots allows parents to express any thoughts and feelings in a safe, non judgemental and personal environment and makes a tremendous positive difference to the parents experience within the Mediclinic City Hospital's NICU.

To support City Tots, one or more of us from Small and Mighty Babies shall attend this meeting to provide any care and support to parents. We found comfort talking to parents who went through similar experiences and hopefully, we can return that comfort. JPH-H
